Firststep.com is a community-focused training provider in the heart of Lisson Green Estate. We offer a range of free Information Communications Technology (ICT) and digital arts courses on the Lisson Green Estate, Westminster. The centre was developed in response to the ‘digital divide’ where communities experiencing deprivation had much less access to technology, training and skills development.
Over the past 2 years the centre has developed an enhanced programme of courses, which include digital photography, graphic design, film-making and computer maintenance among others. ‘Firststep Reaches Out’ is our pioneering outreach programme which takes access and training further into community – with programmes running in local youth centres, sheltered housing and resident’s halls.
Our mission is to capacity build, empower and realise change for social inclusion.
