I started doing volunteer work for Vital Regeneration because I was finding it hard to find a part time or temporary job to do in my spare time. I was introduced to Justine Davey when I went to my local community centre to ask if they offered volunteer work.

I was told about Vital Regeneration and the work that they could offer me. I liked how this sounded and agreed to volunteer for them.

At the moment, I am a helper on Mondays at the Beethoven Centre running the weekly Job shop for the public. My job on that is to be in charge of the computer suite upstairs and assist people that come up to use the PC’s. I also help them out if they need help in anything.

On Tuesday and Fridays, I work at the Greenside Centre and I am on a work placement there as part of my college course. I work on a course that the centre runs called Connect With IT.

From doing volunteering, with Vital Regeneration, I have learned to work with many different people and understand their needs. I have also learned to be patient with people because they are not as fast and don’t understand as fast as me.

Hopefully I will continue to volunteer for Vital Regeneration after this program has finished. I would like to stick with Vital and hopefully get a fulltime job to work with the team.

For all people that are deciding to volunteer for Vital, I would like to say that for as long as you decide to work for the company, you will have a great time and make a lot of great friends and friendly people along the way.

I would just like to give a big thank you to Justine Davey for encouraging me to volunteer with Vital and giving me this great opportunity to work with many different kinds of people form different backgrounds, young and old alike.

I would deff recommend Vital to people. Thanks to all the staff that I have worked with.
